Verdict : BELOW AVERAGE
2.25/5
Story, Screenplay & Direction : The story of this film is a copy of Hollywood Block Buster flick 'Strangers on a Train' directed by Alfred Hitchcock and based on Patricia Highsmith Novel.
Ravi Varma (Allari Naresh) wants to divorce his unfaithful wife, Suchitra (Preeti Jhangiani), in order to marry the woman he loves, Sindhu Tolani (in guest role).
Ravi meets the unstable and psychopathic Dr.Raja (Rajiv Kankala) on a train. Later in Alcoholic state, Ravi tells about his idea
to exchange murders: Ravi would kill Raja's father(Kotasrinivas rao) as Raja's father is an alcohol addict and Raja would kill Ravi's Wife, and then both of them would be free to do whatever they want. Raja does not take Ravi seriously, but later Ravi kills Raja's father and then demands that Raja honors his part of the bargain.
Because of the obvious motives he had, Raja is immediately suspected by the police and now he must prove himself innocent.
However, it becomes more and more difficult as Ravi makes more
appearances to remind Raja about the murder and slowly more people get involved. Rest of the story is how Raja saves Suchitra from Ravi's trap.
Screenplay by Chandrashekar Yeleti is the highlight of the film. Vara Mullapudi didnt focus much on the direction side, as the taking of the film would have been much better. Concept of the film is good but Vara utterly failed in the direction part. Few action scenes were good but chases between Rajiv and Police are unendurable.
Music : Songs are one of the main drawbacks in the film. Background music is highly disgusting. The last song in the movie picturised on Rajiv and Preeti seems to be ok and the rest are un tolerable.
Artists Performance :
Rajiv Kankala : Rajiv Kankala's performance is good. He plays an apt role with angry emotions. Rajiv improves hid performance and dialouge delivery.
Allari Naresh : Allari Naresh has done a negative role for the first time in the film, but he plays Ravi's character with ease. His performance was upto the mark.
Others : Preethi Jhangian looked glamourous, Kota's role was similar to that in 'Aadavari Matalaku Ardhaaleverule' and Ali's comdey was humorous.
How is the film ?
The concept and story of the film are marvelous as they were copied from the Hollywood flick 'Strangers on a Train'. Small changes in the story is pleasing. Chandrashekar Yeleti's screenplay is stupendous but the direction is unsatisfactory. Few comedy scenes in the film were unsensable. Rajiv and Naresh compete with each other to come up with a better performance than the other. Rajiv dominates in major part of the film. First half of the film runs quickly and the real story starts before the interval. Second half is little bit dragged but sounds interesting with suspense and thriller.
Final Verdict : You can easily avoid this flick if you have watched the film 'Strangers on a Train' or read Patricia Highsmith Novel. The film may have good openings as it is presented by SS Rajamouli. If you are bored with routine movies, then this one is certainly a change. Vara Mullpudi would have postponed this film's release as many films are slated to release in comming days.
